“The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.”
A cheerful countenance can have a powerful impact on those around us. A smile, for instance, can lift the spirits of others and make them feel more positive. This is especially important when the people we meet may be struggling with stress, anxiety, or depression. A cheerful countenance can indeed offer hope and encouragement to others.
Just as our opening text today spells out, a cheerful countenance can also have positive effects on our own mental and emotional well-being; it rejoices the heart! When we choose to be happy and show it through our facial expressions and body language, it can lift our own mood and help us feel more positive, thereby enhancing productivity and lifting our overall sense of well-being.
However, keeping a cheerful countenance does not mean we should ignore or deny our emotions. Sometimes, we will have difficult days, but even in the midst of the challenges, we can choose to be upbeat by focusing on the good, looking for reasons to be thankful, as we trust in God’s goodness and faithfulness.
Therefore, whether you are at your work desk today, in transit or relating with colleagues, customers or family members, strive to have a cheerful countenance, not just for the benefit of others, but also for your own well-being. Cultivate that sense of joy that comes from your fellowship with God, and let that joy shine through your face as you interact with others throughout the day.

What a joy it gives to depend on God, putting all your worry n his hands. In the midst of all, you choose to be cheerful. Hiding all within you is a big slap on Satan but a great move of God’s hand on the situation as you choose to be cheerful. I’ve experienced it and so nothing really can take my joy from me even in my sober moments.

Some days back, I was so worried and pressured because of a deadline I needed to met up and was in such a state that I was transferring stress, pressure and all to people around me. In fact my environment was looking gloomy and depressed but I remembered what Prophet once said that PRAISE is the best way to deal with worry and such, I started to praise God and I felt relieved, calm and even slept soundly which I couldn’t do before the praise session.
God came through when I casted my worry on Him, He showed up. Hallelujah 💃 💃 💃

Joyfulness is a state our dependency on God. It is me saying God got my back, I know whose I am and he is making all things work together for my Good.

I would like to term it laughing through pain. Sometimes you go through the most and you just want to stay low, but this is how depression sets in. So when you choose to have a cheerful response, you protect yourself and your heart from sinking into a low place.

This is spot on, I remember a topic prophet taught years ago, “The sacrifice of Joy”. No matter what may be going on around you, it is important to be joyful and carry a cheerful countenance, this can just be your test to enter into your next level! Complaining and keeping a long face will only hinder you from receiving from God! Nehemiah 8:10b spoke on How the joy of the Lord is your strength, Also Proverbs 24:10 says if thy faint in the days of trouble, thy strength is small…. Strength = Joy!

This makes me remember when I was coming back from work,there was a woman sitting by the road,obviously lost in thought as she put her right hand on her jaw, I don’t like seeing people like that,so while passing i had to smile and told her cheer up and stop thinking, she smiled back in amazement which I feel was a good distraction and I moved. Am sure she realized she was on the road and that word sunk in to her and she rose in consciousness.

It takes faith to remain joyful, happiness is a state of been, that has to be triggered by an external event, joy is a spirit that one can possess regards of any situation a person can be in, and only the Holy Spirit who is our comforter can bring us into this Joy.
You need to have accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior, then be filled with the Holy Spirit.
We are joyful not because we are not going through stuff but because we trust God’s goddess and faithfulness. Also, research says higher levels of optimism and happiness were associated with a longer life span and “exceptional longevity,” So another reason why being crummy and unhappy doesn’t help a situation and it’s also reduces longevity.

I was in a fix and the matter got the best of me, so much that it started to disturb me and everyone around me could see that something was wrong with me. I allowed the situation to get the best of my joy and peace.
I have prayed and fasted trusting God but nothing changed. The word started seeming like a story book 🙂.
One day the Holy Ghost brought to my mind on how David praised God in his difficult situation. I started to thank God, praising him while thinking of what he has done for me in the past and how he had brought me out of worse situation compared to what I was going through.
Joy came to me after doing this, expectations were restored and everyone around that saw me felt I was out from the storm since I looked brighter in countenance. All I had was joy restored to me.
I took my mind of the situation and focused on enjoying the joy restored to me. Within 48 hours I got all I needed in abundant.
Are you down and think all hell is loose over you?
Come out of the darkness of sadness and come into joy. Remember, the Lord meets with them that rejoice, begin to praise Him.

Joy is intentional not emotional. You have to decide to be joyful no matter what.
Faith is the springboard for joy to rest on. It speaks of your trust in God. So feed your faith with God’s Word and declaration of His promises.
Satan fights our joy because he knows that he cannot penetrate our camp except he gets our joy out of the way.
Joy gets you up and doing even at work. It is a prerequisite for proper functionality in any organisation. It boosts enthusiasm and passion for work.
