1 Samuel 2:8 (KJV) – “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and he hath set the world upon them.”
When God elevates you and sets you in a position of dominion, He is honouring you with responsibility and with the privilege of stewarding what He has entrusted to you. The honour of dominion means you carry yourself with the dignity of someone who has been chosen, elevated, and trusted by the Living God. You do not retreat from the honour God has placed on you by dominion; you embrace it with confidence, knowing that He has equipped you for the assignment and that His hand is upon your life.
The honour of dominion is demonstrated through the way you treat those under your care, the way you use your authority, and the way you steward the trust that has been given to you. Honour is shown when the powerful show mercy to the weak, when the elevated lift up the fallen, and when those with authority use it not for self-exaltation but for the welfare of those under their care. This is the nobility that God honours when He places you in a position of honour.
Today, step into the honour of the dominion that God has given you. Do not be ashamed of the position you have been elevated to but wear it with the dignity of someone who understands that you have been given authority to serve, to steward, and to lift others. Exercise your dominion with nobility and let your example become a model of what honour looks like when power is used for good.
Hold on to this prophetic declaration from Prophet Isaiah Macwealth:
I decree that you are stepping into the full honour of the dominion that God has given you! You carry yourself with the dignity of the elevated and you exercise your authority with nobility and care. Your dominion becomes a blessing to all who come under your influence, in Jesus’ name!
Section 2—Praying the Promises:
Start-Up Prayer:
Father, I thank You for the honour You have given me. I declare that I exercise my authority with the nobility and the care that reflects Your character. I will use my dominion to lift others, to serve with wisdom, and to steward faithfully the trust You have placed in me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Nation Focus: Ethiopia
Ethiopia is one of the oldest nations in the world and one of the fastest-growing Christian populations on the African continent, with Christians comprising approximately 62% of the population, predominantly Ethiopian Orthodox in tradition, alongside a rapidly growing evangelical movement. The nation has a deep biblical heritage, being referenced in Scripture and home to one of the earliest Christian communities in the world. Ethiopia faces significant challenges including internal ethnic conflict, border disputes, a humanitarian crisis in some regions, and the pressure of Islamic expansion in the Horn of Africa. Yet the Church in Ethiopia is vibrant, prayerful, and growing, with a deep tradition of fasting and intercession.
Prayer for a Nation:
Father, raise up leaders in Ethiopia who exercise their dominion with honour and nobility. Let those who are elevated use their power to lift up the fallen and to care for the vulnerable in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Leaders:
Father, let the leaders of Ethiopia understand the honour that comes with dominion and let that understanding transform how they exercise their authority. Let their leadership be marked by mercy and justice in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Israel:
Father, let Israel exercise the dominion You have given her with honour and nobility. Let the nation be a model of how authority can be used to lift others and to advance righteousness in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Unity in the Church:
Father, let the Church in our cities exercise her dominion with honour and nobility. Let our authority be marked by the care we show for the vulnerable and the weak in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Souls/Revival:
Father, in the name of Jesus, let the Gospel run swiftly and be glorified in every place it is preached. Remove every hindrance to the spread of Your Word. Let many receive and believe the message of salvation.
