Mentors play a very significant role in your journey to success. Many mistakes and struggles people go through can be avoided by submitting to training from those who have walked the same or similar road and recorded a great success. You may not get to the very top by being an island, but by rising on the shoulders of those who have gone ahead.
Mentors are like ladders, they help to speed up your journey to the top by helping you avoid mistakes that will pull you back, while investing knowledge into you. Sometimes, you get mentorship by exposing yourself to books or other materials from mentors. Either way, it is important that you position yourself to be tutored by mentors so you may rise further.
Once you have discovered and decided upon your path in life, you ought to look out for and possibly reach out to one or more persons who have truly succeeded in that endeavor and begin to learn from them. By doing this, you would not only avoid pitfalls along the way and learn valuable experience, you would be positioning yourself to mentor others as well.

Dear Father, cause me to come in contact with the right people that will help me in my path of success in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR A NATION – MAURITIUS.
Background: Mauritius is the largest religion in Hindu with 29% unreached with the Gospel of Christ. Ministry to young people is met with encouraging openness. While they are less bound by ethnic loyalties, many are held back from an open commitment by family pressures. Violent crime, sexual immorality, and the use of Intravenous drugs have increased.
1. Prayer for the nation: We are praying for wisdom upon Church leaders to reach out to the people in Mauritius in such a way as to draw them to Christ.
2. Prayer for the leaders: Dear Lord, we pray for the leaders that they will be honest, morally upright, and have strong principles in line with your standard of righteousness; that they will not accept bribes or work for their own ends, but for the benefit of the people.

One of the key things I learnt through this devotional is I can have more than one mentor..
That’s interesting to me because I’ve always thought you can have just one mentor but on further scrutiny, I realize now that one mentor may not offer insight in every area of your life so it makes sense to be mentored by different people for different aspects of your life.
If you have a vision to have a particular type of relationship, your mentor who primarily offers direction and insight on your career may not be able to offer something similar for your relationship vision except he’s also adept in that area..

This is absolute wisdom. I am a product of mentorship and I fully agree with the concept shared in this devotional. A lot of time we are limited by our perspectives, believe and capacity but with mentorship we can see beyond and achieve beyond we originally can on our own.
