Malachi 3:16 (KJV): “Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.”
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the foundation of all genuine prevailing. Those who fear the Lord occupy a position of divine attention; God hearkens to their conversations, He hears their words, and He writes them in a book of remembrance before Him. To fear the Lord is to live in such reverence for who He is that your entire life, your words, your choices, and your conduct are all ordered by the consciousness of His presence.
As you grow in reverence for God, your life becomes stable, purposeful, and fruitful. You begin to make decisions with clarity and confidence, walking in step with His guidance. This continual awareness of God’s presence shapes your character, anchors your heart in peace, and produces a life that reflects His goodness and brings glory to His name. The believer who lives in genuine reverence for the Lord is never without divine protection, never outside His care, and never beyond the reach of His attentive love.
Today, let the fear of the Lord govern every word you speak, every decision you make, and every step you take. Speak often of Him, think upon His name, and live in the full consciousness that God is listening, God is watching, and God is writing. Those who fear the Lord shall lack no good thing, and that promise covers every area of your life.
Hold on to this prophetic declaration from Prophet Isaiah Macwealth:
I decree that the fear of the Lord is your strong confidence today and you are written in the book of remembrance before God! The LORD is hearkening to your words, watching over your steps, and releasing His prevailing covering over your life. You prevail by the fear of the Lord, in Jesus’ name!
Section 2—Praying the Promises:
Start-Up Prayer:
Father, I choose to live in the fear of the Lord today. I declare that Your fear governs my words, my choices, and my conduct. I speak of You often, I think upon Your name, and I live in the consciousness of Your presence. I declare that I lack no good thing, and I walk in the prevailing covering of a God who hears those who honour Him. My confidence is in the fear of the Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Nation Focus: Democratic Republic of Congo
The Democratic Republic of Congo is the second largest country in Africa by land area and home to a population of over 100 million people, making it one of the most populous nations on the continent. Christians make up approximately 95% of the population, with a significant Catholic majority and a large and growing evangelical and Pentecostal presence. Despite its extraordinary natural resources, the DRC has been afflicted by decades of conflict, political instability, extreme poverty, and one of the world’s most severe ongoing humanitarian crises, particularly in the eastern regions. Yet the Church in the DRC is a remarkable community of faith, known for its passionate worship, fervent prayer, and resilience in the face of extraordinary suffering.
Prayer for a Nation:
Father, let the fear of the Lord be restored to the Church and to the nation of the DRC. Let a generation arise that fears You above every other power, every warlord, every corrupt official, and every threatening force, and let that holy fear release the prevailing covering of God over this nation in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Leaders:
Father, let the fear of the LORD be the governing principle for every leader in the DRC. Let the knowledge that God sees, God hears, and God records create an accountability in the hearts of those in authority that no human oversight system has been able to produce in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Israel:
Father, as we close this month of prevailing, let the fear of the Lord rest upon Israel. Let the nation return to the reverence of the God of their fathers and let that return be the beginning of the great national awakening that Your prophetic Word has promised in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Unity in the Church:
Father, let the fear of the Lord be the foundation of unity in the Church in our cities. Let believers who genuinely fear You speak often of You to one another and let those conversations be so filled with the fear of God that heaven hearkens and remembers in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Souls/Revival:
Father, as we end this month, let the harvest of souls that we have prayed for be fully released. Let every seed of prayer, witness, and sacrifice sown this month produce a visible harvest of souls and let the testimony of a prevailing Church draw many more into the Kingdom of God in Jesus’ name.
