“Scriptural Text: Romans 4:20 (NKJV)
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.”
God is our Source, and there is nothing we need that His divine power has not already catered for in His providence, yet a double-minded believer would receive nothing of God’s provisions (James 1:8), because it takes consistency in seeking Him, and doing His will to experience the fulfilment of His promises.
Our opening text today speaks of Abraham who pressed in faith consistently even in the face of contradictions, until he possessed his promise. His life is an example to us about how we too can take delivery of God’s promises by being strong in faith.
Taking delivery of God’s promises requires an unwavering confidence that what God has said is true, and every other feeling, manifestation or impression is false and thus, only temporary. Each time you receive a promise from God in His Word, you must learn to disregard every other contrary opinion while you hold on only to what God has said.
Remember that your experience is not the truth or reality, God’s Word is (John 17:17). So, refuse to meditate on your situation or circumstance, but get up on your feet right now and with joy in your heart, declare your trust in the ability of God to fulfil His promise in your life. This is how to stay strong until you receive what God has promised.

Hmmmm…I am still amazed at how Abraham was steadfast, holding unto the promises of God waiting 10 years..nothing, another 10 years nothing..hmmm. Life hands us some seriously troubling events. We feel enslaved with the emotions those events tend to produce; emotions such as grief, depression or anxiety. The Holy Spirit leads us to opportunities where we can share our stories and comfort people who are experiencing the same turmoil.

We make excuses not to study the Bible. Time limitations seem to be the number one reason! The Word is a precious gift from God Himself. Absorbing scripture keeps us alert in the truth so aren’t deceived by false prophets. It provides comfort in times of trouble and guidance when we have big decisions to make. Consistently studying God’s work strengthens our faith and our ongoing relationship with the Creator we love and adore. Love always has time.
Dear Lord, please forgive us for making excuses not to study scripture. Help us make studying a priority so we can apply it to our daily life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

We need to keep our minds focused on the things of God. Anything that encourages us to be loving, peaceful, just, patient, and pure, is of God. When we focus on these things, instead of the discouraging messages the world produces, we will produce them in our actions during our daily lives.

We have been taught over the years to think things through. ‘Thinking on it well enough, you will fight a way our’, they say. We have taken that overboard to the point of not thinking constructively to worrying about the thing. Think constructively and not worry negatively. Use your faith to think your way through it all.

To have strong faith in God is to completely trust Him. This one is a bit obvious, but sometimes the hardest to execute. We must trust Him in all things. It’s commanded in Proverbs 3:5, but here we see Jesus commanding it again. Have faith in God, have complete trust and complete confidence. If we have faith in God, feelings of worry, stress, anxiety, fear, and doubt should never surface. If we have faith in God, then we completely trust that He will provide all provision needed. Not only do we trust Him to provide provision, but we are completely confident that He will provide us with an abundant life as well.
