“Scriptural Text: 1 Kings 17:13 (NKJV)
“And Elijah said unto her, fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring unto me, and after make for thee and thy son”
Man is a logical being, wired to make decisions based on logic and reasoning by default. While this is good, it is important to note, that God operates beyond the realm of logic, and so when we walk with Him, He expects us to live by faith not by logic, so we can receive the fullness of His blessings.
The widow of Zarephath in our opening text today was living through the days of famine, and though she had just one last meal left for her and her son, she heeded the words of the prophet and gave it out in obedience. Not logical, many would say, but her obedience ensured that she never lacked again. Her faith pleased God and produced a miracle!
Each time we are faced with the opportunity to obey an instruction from God, we must be quick to remember the person behind the instruction, and therefore resist the urge to overthink that instruction. Train yourself to believe in the Word of God even when it does not seem to align with what you see in your life, and to obey His instructions regardless of how you feel, knowing that His ways are well beyond ours, and His Word will always produce results.
Remember, a life of obedience to God will always attract His blessings; blessings beyond what logic and reasoning can secure. Therefore, as you go about your activities today, be prepared to obey the voice of God’s Spirit as He guides you through His voice, through the Word or through His ministers.

It is always an opportunity to be faced with an Instruction from God!!!! It is one thing to hear an Instruction and another thing to carry it out without thinking about its effect. I remember the Story about the Father of Faith, Abraham…. Who though it was a heavy instruction, a very heavy instruction decided to Obey God to the Latter. AND GOD WAS MOVED!!!

Our God is not a Logical being at all, so when we withhold not our obedience from him, he withhold not his blessings from us. The Widow of Zarephath thought it was her last she was about to give to the prophet, but her next meal was tied in her obedience to the Instruction from the Prophet and when she Obeyed, Lack went far from her, she opened the doors of the miraculous through her Obedience.

Obedient is better than sacrifice, the woman of Zarephath obeys Elijah by give him the last meal she and her child had and it bring surplus to her, we ought to obey the words of our Prophet and to learn to give when we had nothing by faith and believe in God for his supply.
In this life as i have get to know and understand things as I am still growing. Been Obedience is one great key that has a blessing attach to it.(according to job 36:11) that said when you obey and serve the Lord, you will spend your life in prosperity and also by even obeying his prophet you shall be establish( 2 chronicles 20:20) , you can see the story of the great men and women who were obedient in the bible and also check your with those in authority over you that you’re obedient to. For me, its helps build a responsible name and more in their sight, if you relate you will know what I’m talking about. even to our parent, elders around us, place of work and other place you have people in authority.

It is indeed Paramount that we see the end from God’s point and therewith navigate life by the word of God either to us personally or through our Prophet even when instructions come without any tangible thing to hold unto. “Obedience is better than sacrifice they say” and so “Obedience is the best way to show that you believe in God”. A true and faithful believer should have known yet that following God is based on principles which go against our mortal body and logical accumulation of men. Is it the total obedience and sacrifice of our personal desire for that of our Creator. In most cases. these principles are incredible difficult to obey because of how tempting and satisfying it may seems to our mortal body, but the total obedience of Gods words would always yield forth a blessing.
In the aspect of giving, gladly many believers have been awakened on the importance of sowing and giving unto the lord honorably, yet many still do not believe in the act of sacrifice. Many are still entangled with the logical mindset where they evaluate the value of what they have, be it less or much before calculating what they feel is okay to give to God.. indeed God is faithful and would still bless you according to that which is given, but a man of obedience would listen to hear from God before making a sacrifice . This is where miracles happen .

So in obeying God promptly and swiftly, we should not allow our head do the thinking but our heart.
