“Scriptural Text: Psalm 17:8(NKJV)
“Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.”
Our opening text today details David’s prayer to God in a time of distress. He pleads for God’s protection, asking to be kept as the “apple of His eye” and to be hidden in the shadow of His wings. This analogy is powerful and comforting, reminding us of God’s care and protection for His children.
The phrase “apple of your eye” is a statement of endearment, signifying something or someone very precious. Just as a mother bird shields her young under her wings, God covers us with His love and protection. In the shadow of His wings, we find refuge from the storms of life.

These past couple of days have been hard for me, however I came past a video on tiktok and I know it was God speaking to me. The person said it may feel like I’m drowning under the waves right now but have trust and hope in God as he will come save and protect when it’s time. He puts his strongest soldiers out of battle and he leaves you there to fight alone to build your strength but also test your faith in him. I continually have been reminding myself of this for 9 days now and each time I seek his words verses like today’s verses keep appearing to me telling me that I’m under his wing still protecting me from any enemies I have.

I want to thank God because he covers us and and has also placed us under a covering. Many don’t realize this. Many have not understood the prayers of Jesus Christ; ‘father for forgive them’… that was a prayer of mercy, imagine what could still have happened if Jesus didn’t pray that prayer.
