Daniel 6:3 (KJV)
Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes because an excellent spirit was in him, and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.βΒ
To distinguish means to do something very well or in a way that deserves special recognition. And, from our opening scripture today, we see an example of someone who did things very well and thus, gained special recognition.
Daniel was a man who did things differently; he was able to distinguish himself and thus, was preferred above his equals. This was possible because he had an Excellent Spirit. Like Daniel, if you want to be distinguished or elevated, you ought to work towards having an excellent spirit or attitude.
Sadly, many persons still perform much lower than their God given capacity or still do things according to the norm; they do not expand their minds neither are they creative in proffering solutions to the challenges that they face, either in their businessplace or on their jobs. They make little or no effort to distinguish themselves.
If you desire to be distinguished in life, you must be ready to do things differently. Do not follow the norm, neither should you maintain the status quo. Choose to be different and to standout in all of your endeavours. Do not be comfortable in low places. Rather, do things in a way that God will set you apart and cause you to be distinguished and eventually placed at the top. Glory to God.

to be distinguished in life you have to do things a different way. most successful people say, if your opinion is as with the masses, then you are most likely wrong. popular opinion most of the time doesn’t make you successful.
i choose to work different and i receive grace to have an excellent spirit in the name of Jesus.

Many times I hear the term “Distinguished ladies and gentlemen”, from this topic, I have learned that it takes an excellent spirit to really be distinguished. This is indeed eye opening.
I have also learned that it is not about being different from others only but different from others and being an example as you distinguish yourself. Daniel was not only different but today we read about him because his acts distinguished him in a unique way. It might look easy but I am sure we all need the help of God to achieve this. When you desire to be different and start doing things uniquely, it practically changes your orientation and mode of performance.. This way, it’s requires either a higher mode of study, putting more effort in your desires, connecting with people which are better than you or more professionalistic in such areas and so forth. In all manner, a person who is determined to be great, must take greater measures, different from the ordinary to achieve greatness.. .
I understand that to distinguish my self, I have to do things excellently. That is, I have to take out extra time and effort to hand each task at hand and not just yielding myself to the norm or status quo.

To be distinguished means you are a person of excellence and principles and this can only be attained through the help of the Holy Spirit.
I remember sometimes in kaduna whilst I was with my boss (ex). He said something to his friends concerning me. In his words he said βPhina is a person of principlesβ and I was shocked. I knew he liked it when I execute task for him and he liked that I was smart at doing so, but to say to his friends that Phina is a principled person was what I didnβt see coming.
It then was clear to me that I attained that level because of the help of the Holy Spirit through constantly seeking him and prayer. That way he distinguished me even when I donβt have things all figured out.

I also love the part of this teaching that says βyou must learn to do things differentlyβ. And you can not do things differently if you donβt have the presence of the Holy Spirit cus he alone can give you that Power!
