2 Kings 3:27 (KJV): “Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.”
There are battles that are only won by sacrifice. Sacrifice is not merely an obligation; it is a spiritual force that shifts the atmosphere, moves the hand of God, and produces outcomes that human strategy could never manufacture. Sacrifice demonstrates trust in God’s ability to provide, sustain, and reward those who put Him first. It is an act of surrender that declares God is worthy of our highest commitment and deepest devotion. When offered with a sincere heart, sacrifice becomes a channel through which God reveals His power and advances His purposes in our lives.
Prevailing by sacrifice means you are willing to release what is precious, surrender what is comfortable, and give what costs you something in order to possess the victory God has ordained for you. It may be a sacrifice of time, a sacrifice of finances, or a sacrifice of a cherished plan, but every sacrifice offered to God in faith becomes a weapon that turns the tide of the battle in your favour. As you faithfully place God first, you position yourself to experience breakthroughs, divine opportunities, and the fulfilment of His promises in ways that exceed your expectations.
Today, ask God what sacrifice He is calling you to make in this season. The seeds of sacrifice sown in faith often become the harvest of blessing, influence, and victory in seasons to come. Be willing to release it without reservation and trust that the God who sees every sacrifice will honour your offering with the prevailing outcome He has promised. Your sacrifice is not a loss; it is the price of your prevailing.
Hold on to this prophetic declaration from Prophet Isaiah Macwealth:
I decree that the spirit of sacrifice is releasing prevailing power into your situation right now! Every enemy that has refused to yield is departing before the sacrifice you have offered to God. Your sacrifice is not wasted; it is working, in Jesus’ name!

Nation Focus: Nigeria
Nigeria is the most populous nation in Africa with an estimated population of over 220 million people. It is home to one of the largest and most vibrant Christian communities on the continent, with Christians comprising approximately 46% of the population, largely in the south and middle belt regions. The nation faces significant challenges including economic instability, security crises in multiple regions, widespread corruption, and persistent religious tension between Christian and Muslim communities in the north. Yet the Nigerian Church is a global mission force, sending ministers and intercessors around the world and carrying a burden for the evangelisation of the African continent.
Prayer for a Nation:
Father, honour the sacrifices that countless Nigerian believers have made in prayer, in giving, and in service for the transformation of their nation. Let the accumulated sacrifice of a praying Church produce the national breakthrough that has been long awaited in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Leaders:
Father, let a spirit of sacrifice be released upon Nigeria’s leaders, a willingness to sacrifice personal gain for the good of the people, personal comfort for the welfare of the nation, and personal ambition for the purposes of God in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Israel:
Father, let the sacrificial intercession of the Church worldwide on behalf of Israel produce prevailing results. Let every prayer offered in sacrifice for Israel move Your hand and let the people of covenant experience the fruit of corporate intercession in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Unity in the Church:
Father, let the Church in our cities embrace the sacrifice of unity. Let believers be willing to lay down personal agendas, denominational preferences, and historical grievances as a sacrifice that releases the prevailing power of corporate agreement in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Souls/Revival:
Father, let believers in our communities embrace the sacrifice of evangelism, the sacrifice of time, of comfort, and of reputation, in order to reach the lost. Let every sacrifice offered in the pursuit of souls be honoured by You with a harvest in Jesus’ name.
