2 Samuel 5:23-24 (KJV): “And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.”
Every battle you face requires a fresh strategy from God. What worked in your last season may not be the approach for this one, and the most dangerous thing you can do is keep repeating yesterday’s method without consulting God for today. Divine strategy is not a one-size-fits-all formula; it is a specific instruction from God for your specific situation.
When God gives you a strategy, it may not make sense to the natural mind, it may look unusual to those around you, and it may feel counterintuitive to your experience, but when you move in obedience to the strategy of God, He goes before you and does the heavy lifting. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He releases the winning strategy to those who are willing to inquire of Him and act on what He says.
Today, lay down your own plans and inquire of the Lord for His strategy in every battle you are facing. Be willing to hear something different from what you expect and obedient to act on what He says regardless of how it looks. When God’s strategy goes before you, the enemy will be defeated.
Hold on to this prophetic declaration from Prophet Isaiah Macwealth:
I decree that the divine strategy of God is being released to you right now for every battle you are facing! The LORD is going before you and the strategy He has given you is the winning approach. Step into your divine strategy with boldness and watch God go before you, in Jesus’ name!

Start-Up Prayer:
Father, I surrender my own plans and strategies to You today. I declare that I receive Your divine strategy for every challenge I am facing. I will not repeat yesterday’s approach without Your instruction; I inquire of You and I receive fresh strategy from heaven. As I move in obedience to Your strategy, You go before me and the victory is secured, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Nation Focus: Nigeria
Nigeria is the most populous nation in Africa with an estimated population of over 220 million people. It is home to one of the largest and most vibrant Christian communities on the continent, with Christians comprising approximately 46% of the population, largely in the south and middle belt regions. The nation faces significant challenges including economic instability, security crises in multiple regions, widespread corruption, and persistent religious tension between Christian and Muslim communities in the north. Yet the Nigerian Church is a global mission force, sending ministers and intercessors around the world and carrying a burden for the evangelisation of the African continent.
Prayer for a Nation:
Father, release Your divine strategy for national transformation over Nigeria. Let the Church receive heaven’s blueprint for the healing of this nation and let believers become the carriers of God’s strategy into every sector of society in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Leaders:
Father, let the leaders of Nigeria inquire of You for divine strategy. Let the strategies of human wisdom and political calculation give way to the supernatural strategies of God and let the results speak for themselves in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Israel:
Father, let Israel receive divine strategy for every security challenge and every diplomatic complexity she faces. Let the God of Israel release His wisdom and strategy to those who govern and protect the nation in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Unity in the Church:
Father, give the Church in our cities Your divine strategy for unity and impact. Let the approaches that have kept believers divided give way to the fresh strategy of God that brings us together for maximum Kingdom effectiveness in Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Souls/Revival:
Father, release fresh evangelistic strategy to the Church in our communities. Let believers move beyond programmes and methods and receive the specific Spirit-led strategy that reaches the specific people God has assigned to them in Jesus’ name.
