WORK BEFORE PLEASURE
Ecclesiasties 5:12
“The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep”

Our opening text today emphasizes the priority of work over pleasure, and the satisfaction that comes from labouring aright. A diligent man pours his energy into his work and thereafter sleeps with satisfaction, having achieved his goals. This is instructive.

Many fail today because they fail to prioritize work over pleasure. Pleasure ought to be used as a reward for work done or progress achieved, and not as an end in itself. Whereas, perpetual indulgence will only weaken your soul and cause you to experience losses.

Remember, failure and poverty do not honour the Lord. Therefore, you must be willing to work hard and avoid making excuses on your job, knowing that God wants you to be diligent and productive. It is when you work hard and achieve your goals that you honour God, positioning yourself to experience the joy and satisfaction that God has ordained for you. Glory to God.
