Psalm 51:12 – “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.”
Joy is more than a feeling or a response to good circumstances. It is a deep, abiding state of gladness that comes from God Himself. Because joy is supernatural and rooted in the Spirit, the enemy knows its power and will do all he can to steal it from you. When joy leaves, weariness and even depression can take hold, making it hard to keep going.
Our opening scripture shows us how to respond when we find ourselves in a place of spiritual dryness, exhaustion, or heaviness; cry out for restoration! The joy that comes from knowing you are forgiven, loved and never alone can elude you in moments of despair but the good news is that joy is not dependent on your situation. It springs from the unshakeable truth that your life is firmly in God’s hands and He is equipping you with a powerful weapon against despair.
So today, examine your heart. Do you still have joy in the midst of all you are going through? Ask the Lord to restore your joy. Let the Spirit of God fill you afresh. Rise up with strength and gladness knowing you are forever loved (Romans 8:38-39). hallelujah!
STARTUP PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus. I thank You for Your love for me. I ask for grace to walk in joy regardless of what I go through. Help me to rest in the confidence that Your love for me will never change, that my strength may be renewed day by day.
PRAYER FOR A NATION
DENMARK
Denmark, the oldest kingdom in Europe, is a coastal nation on the Jutland Peninsula with over 400 islands and a strategic maritime location important to NATO. Its capital, Copenhagen, is a top tourist destination. Governed by a constitutional monarchy, Denmark boasts a high standard of living supported by a strong welfare system, though it chose to retain its currency over adopting the Euro. While traditionally open to immigrants, recent years have seen stricter immigration policies. Although over 80% of Danes identify as Lutheran, church attendance is very low, with many considering themselves agnostic or atheist. However, increasing spiritual openness has led to the growth of new churches and ministries across the country.
PRAYER FOR THE NATION
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that You stir a mighty revival across Denmark that will draw the hearts of the people back to You.
PRAYER FOR THE LEADERS
Father, in the name of Jesus. We ask that you give the leaders in this nation wisdom and discernment, that they may lead with integrity and foresight.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, in the name of Jesus, frustrate the plans of those who plot evil against Israel, and expose every hidden agenda.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray that brotherly Love and kindness will reign in churches all around the world, that many may see and be drawn to Your kingdom.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray for revival to break out in prisons, hospitals, and forgotten places, that souls may be reconciled back to you, bringing Glory to Your name.
