Hebrews 12:10 – “For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.”
When God corrects you, He is not fixing a flaw—He is forming a nature. His discipline is not punishment; it is participation. As today’s opening scripture says, He chastens us for our profit—and that profit is not financial or emotional. It is deeper: that we might be partakers of His holiness.
The discipline of God is an invitation into His character. Every rebuke is a door to refinement. Every uncomfortable truth is an upgrade in spiritual stature. The fruit of correction is that you start to think like God, desire like God, and respond like Him. Holiness is not behavior—it’s nature. And you cannot share in it without first being trained by His correction.
This is why resisting correction is costly. When you refuse it, you lose more than a lesson—you lose transformation. But when you receive His chastening with a humble heart, you gain access to what cannot be bought or gotten by works: His likeness.
Today, ask yourself: what is God correcting in me right now? Is it my tone? My attitude? My neglect? Welcome His hand. Don’t harden your heart. There is profit in correction, and it is far greater than comfort. It is likeness, and it is priceless. Glory to God.
