Devotional Text
Psalm 18:2 – “ The Lord is my rock, and my salvation; whom shall I fear? my God is my rock; in him will I trust: he is my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”
God never promised His children a life without challenges. Just think about it for a second, if everything were easy and smooth, would there be any need for God? This is not to say that problems exist only to prove our need for Him, but rather, they remind us of our dependence on His power and presence. At times, fear tries to creep into your heart, making you doubt His protection. However, as a child of God, you are not meant to live in fear because God has given you a promise of safety.
Our opening scripture reminds us that the Lord is your rock, salvation, and strong tower. This means that no matter what comes your way, you can trust in Him to protect, shield, and preserve you. When you anchor your faith on God’s Word, fear loses its hold, and you walk in the confidence that He is always with you, guarding you in every situation (Psalm 91:2)
Choose today to walk in the assurance of God’s promise of safety. Reject fear and declare His Word over your life daily. No matter the challenges you face, stand firm, knowing that you are hidden in Christ and nothing can harm you (Isaiah 41:10, 2 Thessalonians 3:3). Hallelujah!
START-UP PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for your assurance of safety. Help me to identify and overcome every limiting thought that seeks to put fear in my heart. Cause me to hold on to Your Word that is able to shield me from all harm for as long as I live, in Jesus’ Name.
PRAYER FOR A NATION
CHILE
Catholicism was disestablished as the state church in 1925, however its influence is still strong, and 70% of people identify with the faith. Despite this, only 13% of Catholics regularly attend mass, and the society is moving further from traditions of the past. Social mores in areas such as divorce and cohabitation are becoming increasingly liberal, while crime, drug abuse, and materialism are also on the rise.
PRAYER FOR THE NATION
Father, in the Name of Jesus, we pray for the churches in this land and we ask for fresh fire to rest upon its pastors and members in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR THE LEADERS
Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray that you would grant the leaders of this nation the grace to desist from corrupt practices and rather walk in integrity and truth in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask that you sprinkle the clean water of Your Word on Israel and cleanse her from her filthiness and from all her idols, including abortion and the occult in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father, in the Name of Jesus we ask that You will take away from the church unhealthy competition and help us to follow you completely in all holiness and righteousness, in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask for a release of supernatural wisdom for soul winning, leading to daily harvest of souls into the Kingdom.
