LORD, SHOW ME YOUR WAY- PRAYING THE PROMISES – 7TH AUGUST 2024

FOCUS ON PURITY
Numbers 31:16 KJV
“Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.”
Today, the enemy’s power against the Church is evident in the perpetuation of sinful lifestyles among believers. Just like in the account of Balaam and Israel in our opening text, it was impossible for Balaam to curse Israel until they were led into sin. This shows that sin gives the enemy the authority to attack us, hindering our walk with God and causing spiritual setbacks.
Sin weakens your spiritual authority and disconnects you from God’s purpose for your life. It’s essential to realize that living a compromised Christian life grants the enemy access to steal your blessings. In contrast, maintaining purity allows us to stand firm in God’s presence, unshaken by the enemy’s schemes. Purity isn’t just a moral standard—it’s a requirement for walking in divine authority and intimacy with God.
Therefore, as you go about your daily life, whether in your dealings or conversations, strive for purity. Be mindful of your thoughts, actions, and words. Resist the temptations that try to pull you into compromising your faith. Instead, let your heart remain steadfast in honoring God always. Glory to God!
START-UP PRAYER:
Oh Lord, I ask for grace to resist temptation and walk in purity. I ask for strength to remain steadfast in my pursuit of You in Jesus name, Amen.
PRAYER FOR THE NATION:
BARBADOS
The island is 95% Christian, with 61% being Protestant and 34% Anglican. Despite these high numbers, the Church in Barbados sees itself in the throes of spiritual decline, with church attendance decreasing and materialism increasing. In addition, denominational leaders and independent churches lack trust and unity. Acceptance and practice of the occult is growing, and immorality is becoming increasingly prevalent, even in the church. The nation’s youth are in a precarious position, facing many temptations from an increasingly immoral society.
PRAYER FOR THE NATION:
Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray for more intercessors in barbados that they will be able to birth your will into the land just as it is in Heaven in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR THE LEADERS:
Father, in the Name of Jesus, We pray for every leader in this land, that there hearts will be opened to receive the Word and willingly apply it in the daily affairs of the nation in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, in the name of Jesus, in Your mercy, vanquish the tremendously powerful religious spirits which dominate the whole territory today in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH:
Father, in the name of Jesus we pray for the church that you will give us grace to possess our vessel in sanctification in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR SOULS/REVIVAL:
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that all who have been written in the Lord’s book in this season will find salvation and deliverance in the name of Jesus.
