Hebrews 12:2–3 (KJV) – “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Life is full of distractions—doubts, pressures, delays, and unexpected challenges that try to pull our attention away from what truly matters. But there is a word of encouragement in our opening text- “Look unto Jesus.” He is not only our Saviour; He is also our model for endurance and victory. When He faced the agony of the cross, He did not quit, because His eyes were fixed on the joy that lay ahead—the salvation of many and the glory that awaited Him at the Father’s side. In the same way, our strength to keep going comes from fixing our gaze on Christ.
If Jesus could endure shame, pain, and rejection because of the future set before Him, then we can also go through and advance when our focus is on Him. What has God shown you about your future? Can you see yourself walking in it, building your home, leading that business, raising godly children, or fulfilling your ministry? When your vision stays rooted in God’s Word, discouragement loses its power and hope stays alive, no matter the season.
So today, refuse to be distracted by fear, pressure, or delay. Keep your eyes firmly on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, and just as he entered saw the fulfilment of his destiny and entered into the joy of the Lord, you too will see the joy of your promise fulfilled in the name of Jesus. Celebrate The Lord now!
