Matthew 5:5 (KJV) – “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”
Meekness is not the same as humility. While humility is the posture of the heart that acknowledges dependence on God, meekness is the expression of that humility through restraint and control. It is having great power and authority, yet choosing to remain calm and composed.
Moses, one of the greatest men in the bible, was described as the meekest man on earth (Numbers 12:3). Though he had the power to command, correct, and even call down judgment, he often held his peace and waited for God’s direction. That is meekness — strength under control, guided by the Spirit.
That’s not all. Our opening scripture goes on to say that The meek will inherit the earth . God Himself ensures that the meek rise above the proud and the hasty. While others fight for position and recognition, the meek quietly possess what others chase after, because God delights in lifting them.
A meek person is not weak; they are strong enough to stay silent when provoked, patient when misunderstood, and steady when others lose balance. God values this posture because it reflects His nature — powerful, yet gentle; mighty, yet merciful.
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you walk in meekness. Let it guide your words, decisions, and responses. As you do, you will find peace in pressure, and favour in the sight of God and men.

Father, give the leaders of Italy wisdom to govern with humility. Let righteousness and justice take root in every institution of government.
