Luke 18:3-5 “And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but Afterward he said within himself, though I fear not God, nor regard man; yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
Many times, believers give up too soon. They pray once, try once, and when they do not see immediate results, they assume it is not meant to be. However, the persistent widow in our opening scripture teaches us the power of unrelenting pursuit. She kept knocking until justice was served.
This is the same mindset that brought Elijah’s breakthrough in 1 Kings 18:41-45. He prayed for rain, but at first, there was no sign. Instead of giving up, he kept sending his servant to check the sky seven times. On the seventh time, a small cloud appeared, and soon after, a mighty rain came.
Breakthroughs often come to those who refuse to quit. Whether it is in prayer, career, business or personal goals, choose today to keep pushing forward. Refuse to be passive about your pursuits. Your achievement is closer than you think. Keep pressing until you see results. Hallelujah!
START-UP PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask for grace to be persistent. Help me to remain steadfast in prayer and in fellowship with You that I may have a vivid understanding of all you have planned for me. Let no situation or circumstance be able to dissuade me from achieving my goals today, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER FOR A NATION
CHILE
Catholicism was disestablished as the state church in 1925, however its influence is still strong, and 70% of people identify with the faith. Despite this, only 13% of Catholics regularly attend mass, and the society is moving further from traditions of the past. Social mores in areas such as divorce and cohabitation are becoming increasingly liberal, while crime, drug abuse, and materialism are also on the rise.
PRAYER FOR THE NATION
Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask that You will cause the leaders in the churches to be relentless in preaching the gospel. Fill their hearts with a deep hunger for restoration and revival, that many may return to the faith, in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR THE LEADERS
Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray that You rid the leaders in this nation of materialism and every desire to gratify flesh at the expense of Your Will. By Your mercy, turn their hearts back to You, in Jesus’ Name.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, we pray against the infiltration of strange beliefs and doctrines among the Jews. Let the revelation of Jesus as the Son of God and risen Savior form afresh in their hearts, in Jesus Name.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father, we pray against the spirit of slander and blasphemy in the Church. Cause the fear of You to come upon every believer that they may be able to prove what is just and true, shutting down every lie, in Jesus’ Name
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father, in the name of Jesus, by Your mercy, cause Your light to shine in the hearts of the unsaved souls. We bind every spirit of complacency towards the Gospel. Cause the fear of damnation to fall afresh on them, in Jesus’ Name.
