1 John 2:6 (KJV) – “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”
Many claim to belong to Jesus, yet lives, their words, choices, and habits show no evidence of Him. When we say we are Christ’s, our lives ought to be like his- full of grace and truth. People may never read a Bible, but they can encounter Him through the way we live. This is why our opening text admonishes us to walk as he did on earth. Our lives as believers is a message to the world about who we belong to.
When Jesus walked on this earth, He showed us what it means to live a life that is pleasing to God. He loved the unlovable, forgave the unforgivable, and served with humility. Jesus walked in truth, humility, discipline, compassion, and complete submission to the Father’s will. He lived in a way that revealed the heart of the Father—meeting needs, showing mercy, and extending grace even when it was undeserved.
Today, examine yourself. Would someone looking at your life be drawn to Jesus or confused about who He is? The goal is not behaviour modification but heart transformation that flows outward. Don’t settle for being a fan of Jesus; become a mirror of Him. Walk as He walked. Think, speak, and live like the One you claim to follow.
Ask God to help you live a life that reflects Jesus’ love and character. Seek to serve others, love those who are difficult to love, and live a life of humility and sacrifice. Anything less is misrepresentation. If you follow Christ, your life should reflect His. The way you speak, treat others, respond under pressure, and handle responsibilities should point back to Jesus. Hallelujah.
STARTUP PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive grace to walk as Christ walked. Let my life reflect His love, His mindset, and His discipline. Make me a living example of His nature, wherever I go. Amen.
Now, let us lift our voices and pray with the word we’ve received today.
Nation Focus: Gambia
Gambia, the smallest country on mainland Africa, lies along the West African coast and is known for its hospitality and vibrant culture. Despite its peaceful reputation, many citizens face poverty, unemployment, and limited access to education and healthcare. Islam is the dominant religion, with Christianity as a minority, yet cultural traditions often overshadow true faith. There is spiritual openness, but shallow understanding and lack of strong discipleship persist. The nation needs a move of God that brings genuine transformation and hope to its people.
Prayer for the Nation
Father, let Your Spirit move mightily in The Gambia. Break every stronghold of false religion and bring multitudes to salvation in Jesus
Prayer for the Leaders
Father, bless the leaders of The Gambia with vision and integrity. Help them make decisions that bring peace, justice, and progress to the nation.
Prayer for Israel
We declare the peace over Jerusalem and pray that her leaders will govern with justice and righteousness.
Prayer for Unity in the Church
We declare oneness in the Church. Let every division be broken and believers united in the name of Jesus.
Prayer for Souls / Revival
Lord, open the eyes of the lost in the world, let the light of the gospel break every veil and draw men unto you in Jesus name.
