“Scriptural Text: Galatians 6:5 (NKJV)
βFor every man shall bear his own burden”
It is not uncommon to hear some people attribute their plight to the actions of others, especially in an attempt to play victim. Such persons may reference past events that they had no control over, or the unwillingness of others to help them as the reason for failure. While one may not be able to totally rule out the impact of these negative experiences, living in the past or cherishing those excuses will never help.
Our opening text today points towards taking responsibility for your life. It speaks of moving away from the realm of excuses to proactivity, especially with respect to growth and personal development.
When you take responsibility, you position yourself to learn from your experiences, so that even amid trials, you can find opportunities to grow in character, faith, and perseverance, trusting that God is using every situation to refine you and draw you closer to Himself. Also, as you navigate the complexities of life, do not lean on your understanding alone, but seek God’s guidance in all you do. By submitting to God’s leading, you will find strength to bear your burdens and the wisdom to make righteous decisions that take you even further.
Above all, take advantage of the finished work of Christ to move past any limitations of your past or that you may currently be grappling with. Understand that in Christ, you are a new creature, and He has the given you the grace to make a fresh start.

Father in the name of Jesus, help me to break free from the limitations of my past, and to forge ahead to achieve all that you have ordained me, in the name of Jesus.
ποΈ PRAYER FOR A NATION – NORWAY
Freedom of religion is granted in Norway, with the Church of Norway being Lutheran. Though the majority of the population are church members, a large number of them are no longer committed. Islam is now the second largest religion, but many are not fully committed to the Islamic faith and are thus open to the Gospel.
1. Prayer for the nation: Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for the unreached people in this nation that they will encounter the Lord and surrender to His lordship in their lives.
2. Prayer for the leaders: Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for the leaders of Norway, that they will acknowledge you in all that they do, and be led by God’s Spirit to align with God’s purpose for the nation, in Jesus Name.
π PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – ( [popup_anything id=”5015″] )
Father in the name of Jesus, show your mercy and favour in this set time to Israel. Let your mercy not depart from Israel, in Jesus name.
πΒ PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray against unhealthy competition in the Church and we ask that you will help us to follow you completely in all holiness and righteousness.
βοΈΒ PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ will shine in the hearts of every unsaved person all around us today in Jesus name.

We should learn not to play the victim cos in all we do, we’re responsible for every action we take. I believe there is always a prompting of the spirit of God pro to our reactions and responses to things, we make mistakes due to our failure to listen to the spirit but at the other hand we gain victory/success by allowing the leading of the spirit in our lives so instead of playing victim we should allow the spirit take charge, even in our mistakes, there is always a room for corrections.
I take responsibility for what happens to me. Thank you my prophet sir

Every man shall bear his own burden – Lagos, Nigeria.
To take responsibility of your life, you first have to feel worthy of a good life to make better decisions. Some people avoid taking responsibility for their lives because they have self-limiting beliefs. Thus, they may feel as though they donβt deserve better. Remember that itβs okay to be selfish sometimes. You canβt give love and support to others if you arenβt providing it for yourself. Prioritize yourself by practicing self-care and self-love activities.

Really many are not taking responsibility for their growth, many build their lives on a faulty foundation laid by others and hold onto such as the reason for the wrong life they have lived. But it’s time to say, they made their mistakes and I even made greater mistakes, but I now i take responsibility for my mistakes while God almighty purifiers or rewrites my foundation as I take responsibility through the help of the holy spirit to build rightly on the renewed foundation. Thank you my Prophet of God, you are a blessing to me and all of us.

Thank you the Prophet of God for always advising us to say NO to fear when ending a broadcast. This is asking me to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. Not taking responsibility therefore is me saying yes to fear, doubt and unbelief; it’s un- repentance and unacceptable.
As a son of God, I have the privilege and the honour of entering God’s very own throne room with my head held high, In His throne room, in His presence, I have the opportunity to receive His grace that empowers me to take responsibility, say no to fear, no to self-pitting and move past the limitation of my past.
Because of God’s mercy I can walk into His presence and prosper in all things, see success in every area of my relationship with Him and with others, my Bible study, work, family, ministry and whatever I will put my hands to.

So, We are influenced by the activities of our environment and are sometimes victimised in one way or the other..

The blame game that started from Genesis 3 is still very much alive in our society. No one wants to be the reason why… But this teaching today highlighted the need to take responsibility – if the prodigal son in Luke 15 never took responsibility, he would have died a wretched man in a far country but Bible records that “he came to himself and said to himself”.
Until we start saying some necessary things to ourselves, and acting accordingly, our change might never come.
Help me LORD to take responsibility in every aspect of my life , Amen!

This passage speaks volumes about the power of personal responsibility and the importance of owning our actions and choices. It’s easy to fall into the trap of playing the victim and blaming others for our circumstances, but that mindset only holds us back from true growth and progress. Embracing responsibility means acknowledging that while external factors may have influenced us, we still have the power to shape our own lives and destinies. It’s liberating to know that we can learn from our experiences, even the difficult ones, and use them as stepping stones for personal development. Trusting in God’s guidance adds an even deeper dimension to this journey, knowing that He is with us every step of the way. I’m inspired to take full ownership of my life, seek God’s wisdom, and utilize the grace found in Christ to embrace a fresh start and move forward with courage and determination.
Nice one
This message is a much-needed reminder that the past should not define our future. It’s true that we may have faced challenges and hardships beyond our control, but dwelling on them and using them as excuses for inaction will never lead to growth or fulfillment. I appreciate the emphasis on taking responsibility for our lives and being proactive in seeking personal development. We should never underestimate the transformative power of learning from our experiences and using them to refine our character and faith. And in moments of uncertainty, relying on God’s guidance provides us with strength, wisdom, and clarity to navigate life’s complexities. Embracing the truth of being a new creature in Christ grants us the courage to leave behind our limitations and move forward with hope and confidence.
I find this passage incredibly empowering as it highlights the importance of personal agency in our lives. Blaming others or external circumstances for our failures may feel like an easy way out, but it robs us of the opportunity to take charge of our own growth and development. I am encouraged by the reminder to learn from every experience, even the difficult ones, and use them as stepping stones for character refinement. Trusting in God’s guidance is essential in this process, as His wisdom surpasses our understanding, and His love sustains us through the toughest of times. Understanding that we are a new creation in Christ allows us to shed the weight of our past and embrace the grace that empowers us to make a fresh start. It’s time to let go of excuses and step into a life of responsibility, faith, and empowerment.
Thank you lord
This passage truly challenges the victim mentality that can often take root in our lives. It’s so easy to blame others or circumstances for our setbacks, but this mindset ultimately hinders our growth and potential. Taking responsibility for our lives requires humility, self-awareness, and a willingness to learn from our experiences, no matter how challenging they may be. Trusting in God’s plan and seeking His guidance are essential components of this journey, as they provide the strength and wisdom we need to move forward. I am reminded of the transformative power of Christ’s finished work, which grants us the opportunity to break free from the limitations of our past and embrace a new beginning. I am encouraged to embrace personal responsibility and approach life with a proactive mindset, knowing that I have the power to shape my destiny with God’s guidance.
This passage serves as a powerful wake-up call to break free from the shackles of excuses and victimhood. It is a reminder that we have the capacity to take control of our lives, no matter the circumstances we’ve faced. Instead of dwelling on past events beyond our control, we are called to embrace personal responsibility and approach life proactively. The emphasis on learning from experiences and finding opportunities for growth, even amid trials, is truly uplifting. Trusting in God’s guidance and wisdom provides a solid foundation for making righteous decisions and navigating life’s complexities. The reminder of being a new creature in Christ is a beacon of hope, assuring us that we don’t have to be defined by our past, but rather, we can step into a future filled with grace and new beginnings. I am inspired to let go of any lingering excuses, embrace personal responsibility, and seek growth and development with God’s help.

When you take responsibility, you position yourself to learn from your experiences.
According to Hosea 4:6; My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Even if you claim you don’t know, or you were not taught, according to the scripture its because you rejected knowledge. The book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night. You reject the law by not studying now you are blaming your family members, society, etc.
Stop defending yourself about what you are going through or what you have lost, take up responsibility. Repent , Study the word, pray, seek God, Do what is right before God. Stop blaming people.

Todayβs devotionals talks about taking responsibility for our actions and all that pertains to us. This would enable us to learn from our experiences.

Absolutely marvelled and thrilled…
The devotional talks about proactivity in our duty and no time for slackness… For God never gave excuses to stop working or creating so as believers of the word and gospel we should take up the responsibility of the Father.
Never feel pity when chasing your Goals and objectives, it makes you lazy and breeds bad habit, we therefore kick out laziness and put on the armour of work, faith and prayer.
God created us with a vision, captured of work and not laziness…
Little did he know that he was moving into the exact spot where he would have an encounter with God.
Yes Lord.
As I am going through lifeβs complexities, I would lean on God and not on my strength or understanding to guide me and to help me make righteous decisions that would lead me to his perfect will for my life.

As Christians, it is essential for us to take responsibility for our actions, not only towards others but also towards ourselves. We believe in a God who holds us accountable for our choices and expects us to be good stewards of our lives. Taking responsibility as Christians means acknowledging that we have a divine purpose and that our actions should align with God’s teachings. It means recognizing that we have the ability to impact the world around us and that we are called to use our gifts and talents for the greater good.
Cornelius Oshiokhamele

Today’s devotional makes me understand that we are called to take responsibility for our actions, thoughts, and words. We cannot simply blame others or make excuses for our mistakes. Instead, we must humbly own up to our shortcomings, seek forgiveness, and strive to do better. Ultimately, taking responsibility as Christians means surrendering our lives to God and allowing Him to guide and shape us. It means living with integrity and striving to be more like Christ in all that we do. By taking responsibility, we become beacons of light and hope, reflecting God’s love and grace to a world that desperately needs it.

There is this funny quote that says “Before you get to 30, you can blame your circumstance on your background but once you get to 30, you become the background”. You become the sole reason for your situation.
You don’t even need to wait till you’re 30 to take responsibility for your life and actions.
