THE ENEMIES OF THE CROSS

To be an enemy of the Cross is to practice a form of religion that follows Christ on your own terms, to live in hypocrisy contrary to His Word, or to promote teachings and practices that distort the truth we know. To uphold the Cross requires a decisive break from self-centred faith and a wholehearted submission to the way of Christ.

Audio Version

Philippians 3:18 (KJV) “For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ.”

For us as believers, the Cross stands as the ultimate expression of redemption and victory. Yet there are those who, though they walk among us, live in ways that oppose its power and meaning. To be an enemy of the Cross is to practice a form of religion that follows Christ on your own terms, to live in hypocrisy contrary to His Word, or to promote teachings and practices that distort the truth we know. It is also to reject Jesus as Lord or to persist in ungodliness, thereby denying the transforming power of His finished work.

To uphold the Cross requires a decisive break from self-centred faith and a wholehearted submission to the way of Christ. It means accepting the cost of discipleship—choosing obedience over convenience, truth over compromise, and faithfulness over approval. When we embrace the Cross, we allow it to confront our motives, reshape our desires, and govern our conduct, producing a life that reflects Christ rather than merely speaks His name.

Today, rather than being an enemy of the cross by leaning on human manipulation, uphold the cross by trusting in the finished work of Christ. This posture acknowledges that true spiritual life flows not from outward religion, but from inward transformation made possible through Christ’s sacrifice, leading us to walk in righteousness, perseverance, and authentic devotion. Glory to God!

Hold on to this prophetic declaration from Prophet Isaiah Macwealth:

I declare that you are a true friend and defender of the cross of Christ! I decree that every spirit of compromise and worldly greed is broken off your life. Receive the grace to uphold the cross in your workplace and see the power of God manifest in your promotion, in Jesus’ name!

SECTION 2: PRAYING THE PROMISES

Start-Up Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for the message of the cross. I declare today that I am not an enemy of the cross. I uphold the cross of Jesus Christ in my decisions, my character, and my career. I refuse every worldly method that seeks to replace Your power. I decree that because I am a bearer of the cross, the life of Christ is manifest in all that I do today, in Jesus’ name.

Nation Focus: Paraguay

Located in the heart of South America, Paraguay is often called the Heart of America. It is a unique nation where the indigenous Guaraní culture and language remain vibrant and coexist equally with Spanish. Much of Paraguay’s spirituality is a mix of Catholic devotion and ancient Guaraní animism. Figures like Tupã (the supreme god) are often blended with the Christian God, and belief in folk spirits like the “Seven Monsters” remains in rural areas. There is a great need for a clear, unpolluted Gospel. Paraguay is experiencing a “Technocratic Boom” moving toward significant international trade deals while struggling to ensure this wealth reaches the rural poor.

Prayer for a Nation – Paraguay

Father, we pray that the power of the living Christ would replace ancient fears and folk beliefs with perfect peace in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for Leaders

Heavenly Father, we ask that you grant them a holy fear of the Lord that outweighs all political pressure or personal greed.

Prayer for Israel

Father in the name of Jesus, we ask for a divine perimeter around the nation. Protect the borders from the north to the south, and let no weapon formed against the safety of the people prosper, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for Unity in the Church

Father, in the name of Jesus, bring us to the place of one accord in our prayer lives. Let our collective voice reach Your throne with power.
