Luke 9:28 (KJV) “And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.”
Jesus was a man of strategic prayer. He did not leave His communion with the Father to chance or convenience; rather, He utilized the art of separation and partnership. By taking Peter, John, and James up into a mountain, He demonstrated that effective prayer often requires a change of location and a specific company of believers. To pray with Jesus is to align your heart with His intercessory rhythm, ensuring that your requests are not just earthly desires but are fuelled by God’s Word.
The technicality of praying with Jesus also involves the use of the Word. When you pray with God’s Word, you are effectively praying the mind of Jesus. This removes the barrier of unanswered prayers because God is obligated to perform His Word. Many factors can cause a man to lag behind in his spiritual life, but the intentionality of climbing the mountain of prayer bypasses human limitations and orchestrates events in your favour, leading to a successful outcome that honours the Master.
Today, make a conscious effort to invite the Lord Jesus into your prayer schedule. Do not rely solely on your own strength or spontaneous thoughts but recognize your need for the mountain-top perspective that only prayer with Jesus can provide. Commit to separating yourself from distractions today. You will find yourself reaching your goals with supernatural ease because the work has already been settled in the place of prayer.
