Proverbs 4:7 (KJV) – “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”
Wisdom is the foundation for victorious living. The Word of God reveals that wisdom is the principal thing, meaning it is the highest priority and the master key to success, direction, and fulfilment in life. Without wisdom, strength, resources, and opportunities can be wasted; but when wisdom is present, every other virtue finds proper expression.
As you begin this new year, make a decision to prioritise wisdom above everything else. Wisdom guides your choices, orders your steps, preserves your destiny, and positions you for honour. With wisdom, challenges become stepping stones, and confusion gives way to clarity and direction.
Today, ask God to fill you with divine wisdom and understanding in every area of your life. Let wisdom govern your relationships, decisions, finances, ministry, and pursuit of purpose throughout this year.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for the gift of wisdom. Grant me Your wisdom and understanding in all things, and let Your wisdom direct my steps throughout this year.

Nigeria, with a population exceeding 220 million, is richly endowed with natural and human resources, yet faces challenges including insecurity, corruption, economic hardship, and social division. The majority identify as Christian or Muslim, with a rapidly growing youth population in need of guidance, discipleship, and hope. The nation stands in urgent need of wise leadership, justice, unity, and spiritual revival that transforms both hearts and institutions.
Prayer for a Nation – Nigeria
Father, in the name of Jesus, release Your divine wisdom over Nigeria. Grant her leaders and citizens wisdom for decisions that bring peace, progress, and righteousness across the land.
Prayer for Leaders
Father, in the name of Jesus, grant our leaders wisdom from above. Let understanding, discernment, and the fear of the Lord guide their actions and policies.
