Galatians 5:16 – “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
Have you ever wondered what truly empowers a person to overcome temptation and live in alignment with God’s will, even amidst life’s pressures? Many believers seem to love God sincerely and desire to please Him, yet still find themselves struggling with thoughts, words, or actions that do not reflect His nature. This conflict reveals the constant tension between the flesh and the Spirit. The flesh pulls toward self, while the Spirit draws us toward God’s will. However, our opening scripture reveals the secret to overcoming – The victory comes not by resisting in our own strength, but by walking in the spirit.
To walk in the Spirit means to live in continual submission to His leading. It is allowing Him to influence how you think, speak, and respond, even when your emotions or circumstances push you otherwise. This is not an act of awareness alone — it is surrender. It is saying, “Holy Spirit, help me respond Your way, not mine.” When you do this consistently, the Spirit empowers you to overcome the desires of the flesh and keeps your heart aligned with God’s truth.
Each day presents opportunities to walk in the Spirit — in how you handle pressure, relate with people, or make decisions. There will be moments when the flesh seeks… — through anger, pride, impatience, or fear. But in those very moments, the Spirit is present, offering strength to choose God’s way. As you submit, you’ll find God’s strength at work within you — producing peace where there was tension, love where there was offense, and wisdom where there was confusion.
So today, make it your pursuit to walk in the Spirit. Begin your day in fellowship with Him, inviting His presence into your thoughts and plans. When temptation arises, pause and ask for His help. Let His peace rule your reactions and His Word guide your steps. As you yield moment by moment, you will experience true freedom — the kind that comes not from striving, but from the Spirit’s power working in you to live above the flesh. Hallelujah
Today’s word has been refreshing! As you go forth, hold on to this prophetic declaration from Prophet Isaiah Macwealth:
“I declare that the power of the Holy Ghost orders your steps are keeps heart aligned with the will of God, in the name of Jesus!! “
