Romans 6:6 (KJV) – “Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.”
The death and resurrection of Jesus did more than save us from judgment — it set us free from the power of sin. Through His sacrifice, our old sinful nature was nailed to the cross, and we were raised into a new life governed by the Spirit. This truth means that sin no longer has dominion over us; its hold has been broken. We are no longer bound by guilt, shame, or the habits that once defined us.
However, many believers still live as though they are slaves to sin because they have not fully embraced this truth. The power of freedom begins with knowledge — knowing that your old self was crucified with Christ. You are no longer who you used to be; the sinful nature that once controlled you has been rendered powerless. To walk in this liberty, you must renew your mind daily with God’s Word and see yourself as God sees you: redeemed, righteous, and victorious.
Today, you are not struggling to become free — you already are. Your part is to live out that freedom by choosing righteousness and refusing to yield to sin. Each time you obey God’s Word, you affirm your new identity in Christ and weaken the influence of sin over your life. So, rise in this confidence: you are free, not by your strength but by the power of the cross. Live each day conscious of this victory and let your life reflect the freedom that Christ has given you.
What a powerful time in God’s Word today! As you go forth, hold on to this prophetic declaration from Prophet Isaiah Macwealth:
“I declare that the power of sin is broken over your life. You are free, redeemed, and unstoppable! In Jesus Name”
