Galatians 5:16–17 – “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh…”
In every believer, there is a constant pull between the cravings of the flesh and the leading of the Spirit. The flesh wants what feels good in the moment—comfort over prayer, gossip over silence, compromise over faithfulness and we sometimes feel powerless against this pull of the flesh. But our opening scripture instructs us to walk in the spirit as the key to overcoming the desire of the flesh.
Walking by the Spirit is letting the Holy Spirit govern your choices, thoughts, and responses. This means being intentional—starting your day in fellowship with God, staying sensitive to His promptings, and replacing fleshly impulses with Spirit-led actions, yielding to the Holy Spirit’s nudge to forgive when you’d rather stay bitter, to speak truth when lying would be easier, and to stand firm when compromise is more convenient. And, the more you yield to Him, the less power the flesh will have over you.
Therefore, make a deliberate choice to walk in step with the Spirit. Pause before you act, listen before you speak, and allow His voice to overrule your impulses. As you do, you will rise above the grip of the flesh and enjoy the freedom, strength, and purity that come from truly living in the Spirit. Hallelujah!
Start-up Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, Help me to respond to Your promptings and not my impulses today. Order my steps by your spirit oh Lord.
Nation Focus: Grenada
Grenada, known as the “Island of Spice,” is a small Caribbean nation rich in culture and natural beauty. While it enjoys relative political stability, many of its citizens struggle with economic challenges, youth unemployment, and limited access to quality healthcare. Christianity is the dominant religion, but secularism and moral decline are steadily rising. Though churches exist, a lack of strong discipleship and growing apathy toward spiritual matters remain concerns. Grenada needs a wave of revival that will reignite a hunger for God and restore righteousness in every sphere.
Prayer for the Nation
Lord, we pray that You would shake the foundations of complacency in Grenada. Let Your Word spread swiftly across the nation. Raise bold witnesses in every town and village who will carry the fire of the Gospel.
Prayer for the Leaders
Father, let the leaders of Grenada receive wisdom. May they not rule by mere opinion, but by divine insight. Guide their hearts to enact policies that bless the people and honour righteousness.
Prayer for Israel
Father in the name of Jesus, We speak strength and stability over Israel. Let her land be preserved, and her leaders find divine wisdom. Let peace cover Jerusalem like a river, and may Your prophetic agenda stand firm.
