THE GRACE TO PLEASE GOD

God does not stand at a distance with expectations; He comes close to empower. He works within—quietly, consistently—shaping our will and strengthening our follow-through, so that pleasing Him becomes both possible and joyful. The grace to please God is already working within you. Yield to it.

Audio Version

Philippians 2:13 (KJV) –  “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

It is possible to carry a sincere desire to please God and still fall short without help. The human will is weak when it stands alone. But our opening scripture gives us confidence: the One who calls us to please Him also supplies the power to do it. God does not stand at a distance with expectations; He comes close to empower. He works within—quietly, consistently—shaping our will and strengthening our follow-through, so that pleasing Him becomes both possible and joyful.

This grace does more than help you do right—it changes what you want. It reshapes your desires, redirects your pursuits, and produces in you a life that aligns with His will. What you once resisted, you now embrace. What you once avoided, you now crave. This is not because of willpower, but because God is at work on the inside.

Today, stop striving and start yielding. The grace to please God is already working within you. Yield to it. Feed it through prayer, obedience, and time in the Word. As you submit, you will find the strength to do what once felt impossible. Glory to God!
