SUBMIT TO GOD’S WILL

When we face challenges that seem insurmountable, we can follow Jesus' example and submit to God's will. Submitting to God's will means we know that God is in control and we trust him to fulfil his word regardless of how bleak the situation may seem.

Audio Version

Luke 22:42 (KJV) – “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Have you ever felt discouraged, weak, and exhausted—like you just couldn’t go on? Maybe it was a situation that kept you awake at night, or a burden that seemed too heavy to carry. You are not alone. In our opening scripture, Jesus reached such a moment on his way to the cross. In His weakness, He displayed remarkable strength in submitting to God’s will.

In the face of overwhelming adversity, Jesus chose to surrender His own desires to God’s plan. Despite being the Son of God, humbled Himself and became obedient to the Father’s will. When we face challenges that seem insurmountable, we can follow Jesus’ example and submit to God’s will.

Submitting to God’s will does not mean we won’t face difficulties or uncertainties. However, it means we know that God is in control and we trust him to fulfil his word regardless of how bleak the situation may seem. As we trust God and submit to His will, we can rest in His peace, knowing He is working everything out for our good.

Today, if you’re facing a challenge that seems insurmountable, remember Jesus’ example in the garden. Submit your will to God’s will, and trust that He knows what is best for you. As you do, you will experience the peace that comes from trusting God, and those challenges will crumble  before you in due course! Glory to God.

STARTUP PRAYER

Father, in the name of Jesus, I choose Your will above mine. Give me the strength to surrender fully, and the courage to follow through. Let Your plan prevail in my life, today and always. Amen.

Nation Focus: Gambia

Gambia, the smallest country on mainland Africa, lies along the West African coast and is known for its hospitality and vibrant culture. Despite its peaceful reputation, many citizens face poverty, unemployment, and limited access to education and healthcare. Islam is the dominant religion, with Christianity as a minority, yet cultural traditions often overshadow true faith. There is spiritual openness, but shallow understanding and lack of strong discipleship persist. The nation needs a move of God that brings genuine transformation and hope to its people.

Prayer for the Nation

Father, we pray for spiritual revival in Gambia. We break the power of traditions that hinder the faith of the people, raise believers who will live in holiness and truth.

Prayer for the Leaders
Father, raise up leaders in Gambia who honour You. Give them courage to reject corruption and lead the nation in righteousness.

Prayer for Israel
We pray for the leaders of Israel that they will seek to do the will of God in the Nation.

Prayer for Unity in the Church
We pray for the Spirit of unity in the Church. Let believers put aside strife and work together for Christ.

Prayer for Souls / Revival
Father, let revival break forth across the nations. Let hearts be pierced with conviction of sin and multitudes be drawn to Your Kingdom.
