FOCUS ON THE LORD

You might ask, what does it mean to focus on the Lord? Focusing on the Lord means to fill your heart with what God has said concerning your life, refusing to allow difficult situations override your knowledge of who you are in Him and what He has freely given you (1Timothy 6:17).

Psalm 112:7-8 – “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid.”

Fear is the greatest weapon the enemy uses to trap believers and rob them of God’s provisions. Challenges of life and unexpected situations can creep into your life to shift your attention from God, but those who keep their focus on the Lord remain unshaken, no matter what comes their way. Our opening scripture speaks of a man whose heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord, and because of that, he is not afraid of bad news. This is the kind of faith God desires for His children; to trust Him completely, so that nothing moves them.

You might ask, what does it mean to focus on the Lord? Focusing on the Lord means to fill your heart with what God has said concerning your life, refusing to allow difficult situations override your knowledge of who you are in Him and what He has freely given you (1Timothy 6:17). Standing firm on God’s promises even when circumstances seem unfavorable positions us for victory and blocks fear from entering our hearts. Like Apostle Peter who walked on water (Matt 14:22-33) just by fixing his gaze on the master, the moment we take our focus off Jesus, we begin to sink, but when we meditate on His finished work on the cross, fear is defeated.

No matter what you may be facing today, choose to focus on the Lord. Refuse to be moved by voices of fear, doubt, or anxiety around you. immerse yourself in the Word, and declare it with confidence. When there is no trace of fear in or around you, nothing will be able to hinder your advancement. Hallelujah!

CHAD
The nation has been ripped apart by civil war, and 80% of the population lives below the poverty line. The government, as is common in Africa, is known for its high levels of corruption.
