POSSESS BY CONSECRATION

To possess our inheritance, we must live by a higher standard. The world may chase possessions, but believers secure them through consecration, obedience and faith.

Audio Version

  • 2 Corinthians 7:1 – “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.Consecration is the act of setting oneself apart by fasting, sanctification and separation. Abraham, the father of faith, walked in obedience and separated himself to God. His dedication to God caused him to obtain a promise of inheritance from God. In the same way, what we are called to possess will not only come through a life sanctified for God’s use.

Many people desire prosperity, yet fail to recognize that sanctification is the key to true prosperity. In our opening scripture, Paul urges believers to cleanse themselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. This means removing anything that contaminates our walk with God—compromising habits, distractions, and anything that hinders our faith.

To possess our inheritance, we must live by a higher standard. The world may chase possessions, but believers secure them through consecration, obedience and faith. When Joshua led Israel into the Promised Land, God’s instruction was clear: “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” (Joshua 3:5) This principle remains true today— you have the right to access the wonders of God when you sanctify yourself. Hallelujah!
