Matthew 5:6 -“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
Have you ever been truly hungry? The kind of hunger that takes over everything—your thoughts, your mood, your focus. That is the kind of longing Jesus describes in our opening scripture but not for food; It is a hunger for God Himself. A deep desire to live in a way that pleases Him, to be close to Him and to know Him more.
This kind of hunger is not an attempt to get Him to do things for us. It is about recognizing how much we need Him and longing to be more like Him. The more time we spend in His Word, in prayer and fellowship, the more we realize how much we truly need Him.
If you have been feeling distant or spiritually dry, do not be discouraged. That emptiness you feel is actually an invitation—God is drawing you closer. So lean in. Talk to Him. Read His Word even when it feels hard. Let your soul reach for Him. He has promised that those who hunger and thirst for Him will be filled. And He never breaks His promise. He will fill you with His peace, His presence, and His power. Hallelujah!
STARTUP PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus. Help me to seek You above all else. Fill me with Your presence and cause my heart to hunger and burn for you again.
PRAYER FOR A NATION
CYPRUS
Cyprus has struggled to achieve stability since gaining independence from Britain in 1960. A 1974 Turkish invasion and occupation of the north has divided the island, creating 230,000 refugees. The island remains divided, with the Republic of Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus having separate governments. Negotiations for reunification have been ongoing since 2008, but progress is slow. Cyprus is struggling with severe economic challenges, with heavy exposure to bad foreign debt and a declining tourism industry. The country also struggles with negative prejudices against Evangelical and Protestant churches.
PRAYER FOR THE NATION
Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask for the revival of industries in this nation, leading to the provision of employment for citizens and economic growth.
PRAYER FOR THE LEADERS
Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask that You raise up leaders who will be faithful stewards of the nation’s resources.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father in the name of Jesus, cause your blessing to rest upon Israel, that the world may know that they are a people under Your authority.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father, in the name of Jesus, cause the church to walk in humility of heart, forbearing one another in love.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray for a fresh awakening in the hearts of the unsaved, that there may be a mighty harvest of souls into Your kingdom.
