Audio Version

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:18- “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

It is easy to get into the habit of taking things for granted: God’s mercy, His blessings, and the good things in our lives. We can become so accustomed to His goodness that we forget to acknowledge and thank Him. Our opening text reminds us to give thanks in everything. This means to recognize that every good gift comes from God and to express our gratitude to Him (James 1:17). We should not take His mercy and blessings for granted instead, we ought to cultivate a heart that is thankful for all that He provides. We must choose to see the good in every situation, and to acknowledge His hand in all things

Also, we ought to consider the people who bring us joy and support: our mothers, fathers, family, friends, loved ones and all those who play a vital role in our lives.  We must give thanks for their love, encouragement, and presence. We must learn to appreciate even the little things they do that often go unnoticed. By doing so, we will cultivate a heart that overflows with gratitude.

So, take a moment today to reflect on the blessings in your life, and give thanks. Do not forget Your family, friends and loved ones. When you make gratitude a lifestyle, you will find your heart always filled with joy, peace, and contentment. This will also cause the favour of God to overflow in your life and in all that you do. What a blessing!
